Democrats, Liberals and Progressives Stop The Maddness

Democrats, Liberals and Progressives
Stop The Madness

My Liberal, Democrat and Progressive friends, I am so disappointed in how everyone is out in cyberland and on cable TV snipping at each other and at our bodies in the US Congress as well as President Obama and his Administration.

So many negative articles, TV appearances and now TV ADs against them. All I am hearing is "Kill The Bill" "Don't Vote For The Bill, Unless It Have A Public Option." President Obama promised us a Public Option, is coming from most Liberal Sites, TV and Emails. Well no, he did not run on a Public Option. He ran on an Exchange, one like the Senate and Government Employees have. He have always said he agree that a Public Option would help save the government and citizens money. But he did not promise to get a Public Option. Desiring something is not the same as "Yeah I'm gonna get this."

No bill coming out of the House or the Senate is going to be perfect. Because each and every, over 500 Representatives we have is going to look out for their state and constituents. As they should. That is what they was sent to Washington DC to do. So every bill is going to look different, and come as close to the center as it can, to accommodate millions of people.
Presidents and Senators also Congressmen/women have been fighting for over a 100 years to get healthcare reform done through the house and senate. Now that we are one hair away from passing a historic bill with mega reforms to the Insurance Industry, you are are hollering to kill it. Not good, and I say no way. And to top that off, it's not the final bill. The House and Senate still have to come together to merge both bills into one that they all can agree with and vote yes on. So why is everyone acting a fool?

No one is going to get everything they want. No way, no how. Someone is going to be upset, mad or angry. People to get this done "The Final Bill" it is going to require compromise from everyone involved. What the Democratic Senators and House members need now is our support, maybe some urging and nudging. But the negative talk, the dissing the President (who is working his ass off behind the scenes) all of this have to stop. This is what the Republicans want, is for all of us to self destruct. And from the looks of things they just may get their wish. So Stop The Madness. Help our President.
Don't and Stop dogging him.

It took 8 years of hard work to get another Democratic President into office. You all want everything done NOW. That is stupid when the President has only been in office 11 months.
Give the man a break. With this economic climate, it's lucky we got any kind of Healthcare Bill at all. And he have used mega political capital to try to get the bills passed. And you all are still ungrateful. These are some words I remember from President Obama's election night speech.

President Obama said Election Night.

There will be setbacks and false starts, that statement will always be with me.
The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term, but America - I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you - we as a people will get there.
There will be setbacks and false starts. There are many who wont agree with every decision or policy I make as President, and we know that government cant solve every problem. But I will always be honest with you about the challenges we face. I will listen to you, especially when we disagree. And above all, I will ask you join in the work of remaking this nation the only way its been done in America for two-hundred and twenty-one years - block by block, brick by brick, calloused hand by calloused hand.
What began twenty-one months ago in the depths of winter must not end on this autumn night. This victory alone is not the change we seek - it is only the chance for us to make that change. And that cannot happen if we go back to the way things were. It cannot happen without you.
So let us summon a new spirit of patriotism; of service and responsibility where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves, but each other. Let us remember that if this financial crisis taught us anything, its that we cannot have a thriving Wall Street while Main Street suffers - in this country, we rise or fall as one nation; as one people.
Let us resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics for so long. Let us remember that it was a man from this state who first carried the banner of the Republican Party to the White House - a party founded on the values of self-reliance, individual liberty, and national unity. Those are values we all share, and while the Democratic Party has won a great victory tonight, we do so with a measure of humility and determination to heal the divides that have held back our progress. As Lincoln said to a nation far more divided than ours, We are not enemies, but friends...though passion may have strained it must not break our bonds of affection. And to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn - I may not have won your vote, but I hear your voices, I need your help, and I will be your President too.

=================

That night President Obama called to action a nation. A nation that was in economic trouble. A Healthcare system broken, 2 wars that was out of control. A prison used as bait to recruit terrorist. Needing to be closed. Saving Jobs, Homes, Banks, Car Companies, Banking regulations, Energy Regulation, etc I could go on and on. He asked America for help to get these things done. He knew it was not going to be easy. He knew it was going to be hard. And he took the job anyway. He stood up and took the challenge to help put this country back on track. He need our help, not all the criticism from his own party. He have enough of that with the congress and the senate, not helping him. And some of them just want face time on TV. But the Republicans and the Wingnuts are out in full force. And the news media all of a sudden after 8 years decided to start doing their jobs, and still not so well.

So America, our President need us. He can't accomplish all these hurdles by himself. He need our help. He don't need pushing, he know what needs to be done. And have put excellent people in place to do it. He need Liberals, Democrats and Progressives to get up off our ass from the computers, and cable TV and march on Washington, so our Senators and Congressmen/women can see what the real Americans that put them in office want and need for them to do. So stop the divisions among ourselves. And start this new 2010 with a new spirit of calibration together. Nothing can get done with all the division.

President Obama's Historic Healthcare Victory. Not Yet

I am hearing from all of my Liberal friends that the Senate Bill should be killed. The Republicans are shouting the Bill should be killed. The message boards are alive with a bunch of Democrats and Liberals as well as Republicans and Rightwingers denouncing the Senate Bill, and some are still on the House Bill. Stop it now!!!!!!!
The blame game is out in full force. Some are saying President Obama did not fight hard enough for the Public Option.

If President Obama did not fight hard enough, what was all the townhall meetings he had about the Public Option and Healthcare reform come from. Even though he did not run for President on a Public Option. He ran to get access to healthcare for all through the same exchanges or one like the Senate and House use. That would help bring healthcare cost down. All the speeches, calling House and Senate Democrats and Republicans to the Whitehouse for meetings on healthcare, and a lot of one on one meetings with both sides about trying to get compromises on both bills. Giving concessions in order to get votes. Adding compromises to get votes. Meanwhile, where was all of his support? Where was the huge rally's he needed to show that the American people was behind him? The Rightwingers and racists were out in full force. And they got the most attention. Where was the thousands of Liberals and Democrats marching on Washington, that was needed to make a point. No they was sitting at home on their ass behind a computer criticizing President Obama and the Democrats. Action speak louder than words.

Where was the action needed? Don't the Liberals and Democrats know that in order to make their point, it's going to take more than signing our name. Everyone have to get up off of our ass and get to Washington. President Obama can't make the laws. The Senate and Congress do.

For this final vote on the Healthcare Bill, We need a huge march on Washington for this last step in the Healthcare process. If a Public Option is to be added. We have to mobilize in force. Not a few hundred people but thousands of people who want to see this manifest. That is what it will take for the Senate and Congress to see that the American people need and want a Public Option. To bring down costs. When the Senate and Congress see a million or more people, the people who vote them in office, that changes things. And changes their minds. If they don't hear from us, or don't see us, they assume that we will go along to get along. It's time to mobilize and wake up the Senate and Congress. The special intrest groups have descended on Washington with full force. And won't leave until they weaken the bill more. So it is up to the American People.

This new President on January 20, 2009 walked into the Oval Office, opened the closet door, and mega crap hit him in the face falling out of the closet. Things he never envisioned as he ran for the Presidency. I would bet my head that the economy is and was far worst than he imagined. I think it was in an even deeper hole than he could tell us, and had to present to the American people. Naturally he can't say it out loud because it would cause a worst panic than it was already. So his job was to calm the American people and assure them that help was on the way. Getting a Recovery Package done. Then the two wars, both was worst than previously reported to the American people. So developing a good strategy was a must. Building on what Bush left, meanwhile accessing what was going on, on the ground. Both hard decisions. Then there comes a pandemic of flu. Iran, Iraq, North Korea then some Pirates.
Closing Gitmo, Getting his Cabinet, Ambassadors and Government Posts confirmed by the Senate. So he would have some people in place to help get this country back to where it should be.
A Supreme Court Justice decided to retire. So he had to choose another one. It looks like another will retire next year, so here we go again.
We have had floods, snow and wind damage to states. Unemployment up to 10%, I think a lot of companies are holding jobs hostage to get more federal monies to their states. And a lot of Bankers are withholding money for loans to get back at President Obama's administration for calling them out. That is just my opinion. Also a lot of Republican Governors are withholding money for jobs the Government sent to make Obama's Administration look bad. because the Mayors are complaining that the money is not going in as it should. Even though the states got the money. That's a red flag right there.

I bet the Republican Senators are telling the Governors not to release the money until the very last minute. These are the kind of games they are playing in Washington. I know they are playing the same games here in South Carolina.

President Obama have beat the tarmac and the streets, with townhalls, news conferences, interviews and personal statements on the Economy, Healthcare, Energy, Afghanistan and 50 other subjects of interest to Americans. Yet his critics complain (Republicans) President Obama said there was going to be unity in Washington.
Well the Republicans decided they was going to be the party of NO. No to all of President Obama's agenda. My dumb Senator DeMint. Want the fall of Healthcare to be President Obama's Waterloo. And all of them have been fighting tooth and nail to try to make it happen. The Republicans claim that they have been in the dark with the writing of the Healthcare Bill. Duh, they was involved until they all did not get all the tax breaks for the rich they wanted, then they walked away. American's are not dumb. We see what is happening.
I want to ask one question. What good is giving tax breaks, if no one have a job? To get the taxes from. The jobs bills that the Republicans voted against. On purpose to try and sink the bills for jobs the American people need right now.

Senator Snowe said she is voting against the Healthcare bill because it was rushed. How lame, the Congress and Senate have been working on this bill for a year. How is that rushed? It is out there for the world to see. And read. The Republicans said they did not know what was in the Healthcare Bill and wanted to stall the bill by requesting that it be read aloud on the Senate floor. Well none of them stuck around to even hear what was in it. So that was another negative lie complaint.

On Energy, President Obama went to Copenhagen to fight for some kind of compromise with World Leaders on fossil fuel emissions. Even though he did not get the signed agreement he wanted, at least it's a first step of admission by these countries that something have to be done, it's just a foundation to work on. It's going to be hard to get something concrete in this bad economy environment. It will get better. With all the meetings he had and I read he even crashed one meeting, to get some answers. So he did fight, even though he did not get what he wanted, everyone now know where he stands. Good for him. So on his way back from Copenhagen he had to stop and order an air strike in coordination with Yemin's airforce. No rest for the wary.

Thank God we have a President who can multitask. Just think if he could only work with one thing at a time.
Well the Healthcare bill is almost passed the Senate. Almost. A final vote is due Christmas Eve, if not before. It's been a long slog for President Obama this year. He have approved many wonderful laws for the American people. I don't agree with everything he do, but for the most part, at least we have someone in office who care about the American people, as well as others in the world. And his actions prove that so far. We won't get everything we want with Energy, Healthcare, and working on the Economy right this minute. But we still have a few years to work on the existing laws to better them for the American people.
So stop the blame game everyone, and lets get to work, help our President to help us. He can't do it alone.

The Healthcare Bill Battle Continues

Healthcare, in the Senate continue another day. I've been reading the blogs and visiting sites for the last few days. I know, I know, I need to let it go, or stop reading. Everyone seems to have a different opinion on what Healthcare Reform should be or look like.

Many Liberals, and some Democrats are raising hell because President Obama is not in everyone's face, trying to make the Senate do what he want them to do. And blaming him because they are acting a fool. A person in their right mind can't blame the President for the Senate or Congress making a mess. I am sure he thought they would act like adults. Maybe he was a little nieve thinking they could handle this. I'm sure his administration had a bill set and ready to go. But trying to be respectful to the Senate and the House, he let them put the bill together.
I would bet my head he won't do that again. Look at the political capital it has cost him.

I always thought the Senate, and House was a different branch of government. All the President can do is ask his party or direct them to propose a bill for him to sign. Sure the President have a mandate he was voted into office on. And also the members of his party. But it's up to the Senate and Congress to come together and pass some decent bills related to the President's mandate. The news media have lost their minds shoving microphones in everyone's faces, and the Senate members acting like they are crazy on crack. Making the whole Democratic Party look crazy and stupid as hell.

Everyone want everything either in the bill or out of the bill. This one is going to vote for it, another one is not sure, yet another is holding the votes hostage until they get something for their state. This look like a bunch of crackpots. No one is acting professional. No one seems to have any common sense. The Democrats know that if they don't pass a good bill, they will be voted out of office next election. As they should be.
They was sent there to help the American people. This is a once in a lifetime and professional chance to pass a good legislation to help the American people. History People. History.

All the interest groups are banging on doors and ringing phones off the hook. The progressives and the conservatives. According to the media, it's an all out war. I went on Huffington Post, nothing but negative articles about the Healthcare Bill. Then Daily Kos same thing. I moved over to Talking Points Memo, at least there was a variety of articles there good and bad. I noticed all the trolls are out in full force, on all the sites. Some pretending to be progressives. Yeah right.

Then I moved over to Mark Halperin's The Page on the Time site. And saw this article from President Clinton about Healthcare Reform.
http://thepage.time.com/bill-clinton-on-health-care-2/

Out of the 50 or so articles I have clicked on and read today, this one make the most sense. Thank you President Clinton. President Obama said basely the same thing after his meeting with the Senate Tuesday. But no one want to hear it. Everyone want what they want. And everyone want it now. Don't they realize that they can add to and change the bill later. They are going to have to do that anyway for some parts of it.
Pass the Dam Bill.
Then we still have three more years to get it right. Add to it and remove what don't work. That is common sense. It's easier once you have a bill to do that to than to start from scratch. Just pass the thing. So this circus can be over. No one want this thing hanging over the holidays. Or we will start the same crap again next year. We can do better than this. We are better than this. Come on Democrats get this right and finish it. Look out for the American people for a change.

Bill Clinton on Health Care

Statement from President Bill Clinton on Health Care Reform
December 17, 2009

New York, NY - "America stands at a historic crossroads. At last, we are close to making real health insurance reform a reality. We face one critical, final choice, between action and inaction. We know where the path of inaction leads to: more uninsured Americans, more families struggling to keep up with skyrocketing premiums, higher federal budget deficits, and health costs so much higher than any other country's they will cripple us economically.

Our only responsible choice is the path of action. Does this bill read exactly how I would write it? No. Does it contain everything everyone wants? Of course not. But America can't afford to let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

And this is a good bill: it increases the security of those who already have insurance and gives every American access to affordable coverage; and contains comprehensive efforts to control costs and improve quality, with more information on best practices, and comparative costs and results. The bill will shift the power away from the insurance companies and into the hands of consumers.

Take it from someone who knows: these chances don't come around every day. Allowing this effort to fall short now would be a colossal blunder -- both politically for our party and, far more important, for the physical, fiscal, and economic health of our country."

The Worst Acting Democratic Congress and Senate in My Lifetime

I have this saying, that working with Democrats is like herding cats. They are never on the same page, Democrats don't know how to come together and work in a coherent manner for the good of the United States. There is always at least three jackasses in the bunch. That don't know how to play well with others. Or you have the ones who are beholden to the special interest groups. So they are held hostage by them. And can't vote with the others.

Even if President Obama had three hundred Democrats in the House and seventy five Democrats in the Senate, he still could not get a peaceful bill through either house in a timely manner. Because of their stupidity. And unwillingness to work through the big items on the agenda, and maybe have to give up some of the little items. To get a good bill passed. This is why Democrats don't get to stay in office long. Or hold the Whitehouse for a long period of time. All they will get is continued bad press, which make it seem like they are doing nothing, but fighting among themselves. And thanks to the three jackasses, they normally are.

Let me talk about the Lead or top Jackass of the week. Joe Lieberman, the Senate have worked a year on this Healthcare Bill. It's been talked about and debated for a year. The Bill have moved from two committees to the Senate floor. Now this week, out of no where here come Joe Lieberman, trying to make himself relevant. Wanting to strip even more cost curving measures out of the bill. Where was this jackass all year while the sausage of the bill was being made? Where was his objections then? I've been reading and checking up on Lieberman. He is surely in the insurance companies pockets. So they are running him. He needs to be voted out of the Senate. He is useless to the American people. He have tried this before on other bills and amendments. He likes attention, but the American people are waiting on the elected branch of the government to clean up this healthcare mess. Thanks to this jackass and maybe two other asses, two of the most important parts of healthcare reform will not be in the bill. The Public Option and the lowered age for Medicare Insurance. So the prize of the week of Jackass go to Lieberman, Nelson and Baucus all for watering down the Healthcare Bill. If they are not reelected it won't matter, because they are voting and acting like Republicans anyway.

I had to stop watching the cable news shows. As much as I enjoy MSNBC in the evenings, they was starting to make my head hurt. All the cable chatter. And a whole bunch of nobodies fighting for face time on TV.

I have some thoughts on how this could play out. Some of our Senators are working for the Insurance Companies, so they are not looking out for the American people. People like Joe Lieberman who President Obama stood up for, and asked Senator Harry Reid to keep him in the Democratic Party after he went against the Democratic Party and endorsed Senator McCain, then Lieberman trashed President Obama at the Republican Convention, now he want to destroy one of President Obama's main agenda pieces of legislation. The Democrats forgave him and let him back in the Party, and let him keep his powerful Chairmanship Position.
My main desire is that the Democrats would get together, vote him out of the Party, and strip him of his Chairmanship Position. He is not helping the Party anyway. All he is doing is causing grief to millions of people, because the decisions that are made because of him will affect millions for the worst. So no one need him.

I wish that Senator Harry Reid would just get this piece of legislation through, as they go through conference putting both bills together ( House and Senate) (Public Option put it back in) word it where they can use reconciliation with 51 votes to pass it. They can pass the other parts of the bill separately. No way in hell a person should have to go through this much crap to past a decent piece of legislation.
Or there is the ping pong, or managerial option, they can use. Where the House and Senate get together. Make sure all the important parts of the bill both sides want is included. Once the Senate pass their bill, the house will vote to accept it also. It won't have to go to conference. Or back to the Senate. The bill will then go to President Obama. That would be another headache eliminated.

So many people are saying that President Obama is not speaking out enough about the bill or pushing the Senators enough. What do everyone expect of the President? Is he supposed to go down to the Senate and knock some heads? Is he supposed to threaten them? Or as I am sure he want to do, knock the hell out of some of them to put them on the right track.
All President Obama can do legally is sign the bill once the Senate and House pass it. He have talked to these Senators and Congressmen/women until he is two shades blacker. And a whole lot grayer. He have done many townhalls talking about it. He have made calls to all of them, had them at the Whitehouse 3 or 4 times. All he can do now is pray they do the right thing.

The Senators and Congress officials are the ones that need a good swift kick in the behind to remind them why they was elected. Maybe if the media would stop shoving a microphone in Lieberman's face, the idiot would go away and vote like he have some sense left. He is only doing this crap to get attention.

If the Democrats keep acting like they didn't win the last election. The Republicans will take back the house and Senate the next election because the Democrats will have accomplished nothing.
The Democrats are embarrassing the Party. They need to start acting like winners and past some good decent legislation. So we will have something to be proud of. I know I rambled today, but I am disgusted with my party right now. I'll clean this up later.

Update from Talking Points Memo Site

Snowe: We Could Vote On Manager's Amendment Monday

Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-ME) told MSNBC today that the Senate could vote on Majority Leader Harry Reid's manager's amendment -- which would include what's left of the public option compromise -- as early as Monday. "That's ambitious," she said. Snowe also said she's "mystified" as to why the insurance industry wasn't satisfied with the Senate Finance Committee bill, which had an individual mandate and offered "half a trillion dollars in credits and subsidies" to insurers.

Expanding On Our Moral Imagination
Can President Obama Walk In Our Shoes?

Can he understand what the average middle class or poor person is doing in this recession? Can he understand the different demands that the various groups want done right now can't wait, regardless of what else is going on in the world. Everyone want their turn and his ear NOW.

I listened to President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize speech, then I went to whitehouse.gov and read the words carefully. It was an historic speech, that will go down in the history books, for generations to come to refer to. If a person really listened to and read the speech it is The Obama Doctrine, laid out for the world to see, read and adhere to. In watching the video interview he did with Will and Jada Smith, right after his speech in Oslo, accepting his Nobel Peace Prize, it gave great insight into his thoughts, about the world and world peace as it is and as it should be.

President Obama know what it's like to be poor, and middle class. His family was on food stamps at one point in his young life. In his college days he lived slim, and drove an old car with a hold in the bottom. He and Michelle still laugh about that. He even wore old shoes with a hole in the bottom of them. They remember and laugh about that to. He often talk about he and Michelle only just finished paying off their college loans about 3 years ago. They lived in a very small condo apartment within the last 4 years. So he do know what it is like to struggle to make ends meet within a family.

He and his family know what it's like to be on both sides of the spectrum. Even when it come to income, class, religion, and race relations within his own family. That is why when some Republicans call him a racist, they sound like lunatics. And just down right stupid and racist on their parts.
President Obama's mother is white, his father is African. His grandparents was white, and his stepfather was Indonesian. One sister is half white and half Indonesian. Her husband is Canadian and Asian. Their daughter his neice is Canadian, Asian and Indonesian. Then his brothers and sisters on his fathers side of the family is African, Black, Chinese and White. He often says his family reunion look like a meeting at the United Nations. Everyone have a different look, social lifestyle, religion and outlook on the world.

President Obama should trot his family out on the stage so the world can see what real diversity look like within a family.

So the world can get a good look. I hear the blacks say he is not black enough, the whites say he isn't white enough. To understand what blacks or whites need. Let me put it this way. If he was standing on a corner trying to catch a cab, there would not be a problem as to what color he is. As far as being white enough, or know what the white culture needs, he was raised by white grandparents and a white mother. He lived and went to school in a mostly white area of Hawaii. So growing up in a white world is what he know.

As a matter come to mind. I think this is where the name Barry come from. First of all back in the 60's I'm sure the name Barack was hard to pronounce. Also the name Barry was close enough to Barack, so he could fit into their world. I hate to think this, but maybe his grandparents did not like the idea of their daughter marrying a black man ( 60's remember) but still loving their grandson, did not want to be reminded of the name Barack. So therefore the name Barry was born. (These are only my thoughts) It's easier to accept him that way. Therefore he fit well into their world.

I would say, President Obama do understand what is needed in and for each nationality, and class of people during this recession. Because he is one of us, and have walked in our shoes. I think he is working with the right people to get us on the right track back to prosperity. It's not going to happen overnight, because this financial meltdown did not happen overnight. It took a few years, and therefore it's going to take a few years to get us back on the right track or even keel.

We won't have the same manufacturing jobs we had before. They are gone and won't be back. So this is why President Obama is laying a new format for a new foundation of long term green jobs that can't be outsourced. Millions of jobs. This is why he is repeatedly telling people to go back to school and reeducate your selves, so as these jobs materialize, people will be educated in those fields and ready for hire.

So I don't care about your race, religion, or social standing. Educate yourself for the future jobs of America. Or you will be left behind in the new jobs market. Our President is trying to stabilize the economy for the long term. Not a short term fix. Everyone keeps saying he need to put himself into our shoes, well he have walked in our shoes. He gets it. Now everyone put yourself in his shoes. Whereas how hard is the decisions he have to make for us. Working with Congress and the Senate is like trying to herd a bunch of cats. They are all over the place.
But he will get his agenda done. And done well, it's just going to take some time. Slow but sure.

Check out the video of the interview Will and Jada Smith with President Obama in Oslo.

Obama Metrics On Afghanistan This Past Month

Thoughts On Afghanistan

A few words and my opinion about the Afghanistan serge that President Obama is implementing.

After a long thought out process our President have come to a decision as to the strategy we will use going forth in Afghanistan. I will also add Pakistan to, even though he did not come right out and say it in his speech Tuesday night.

Osama Bin Laden is located in Pakistan. At least that is what we Americans have been told for the last few years. So I have to conclude that this new strategy will have point people and strategist in place in Pakistan, working the ground. And that Pakistan will be working with us to assist in capturing him and his posse.

Everyone meaning (Liberals and Democrats) seem so surprised and disappointed that President Obama is escalating the war in Afghanistan.

No one should be surprised at this strategy. This is the campaign that he ran on. Pulling out of Iraq and reeving up Afghanistan, to train their people to take over their own nation. Why is everyone so upset? Did you think he was going to change his mind? I always thought he would do what he said, and I also think he will start pulling out of there within 3 years. I remember him saying he did not want to leave a mess like what was given to him for his predecessor. Our President want to do things right. Not to be reelected. But because it's the right thing to do. And I will back him, until he give me a reason not to. So far so good.

I think the deadline is a good thing. It puts everyone involved on notice. And everyone know they have a job to do, and not (dither) including the Afghanistan President and Pakistan President. Also the Generals know they have to make it work. Everyone have to get their act together. This is a good move. Nothing works in Washington without a deadline. As I have seen in my adult life. So I think it was a good strategic move. I love having a President who thinks things out before acting. I don't like war, but war is necessary sometime. I feel this one is warranted. And we just can't walk away, as much as we would like to. To much at stake for the United States.

So to all the critics that want to sit around and judge others. Pick up a gun and go stand a post or fight. This is a war that must be finished. There won't be a win or lose. But we will be secure. That was what this war started out, to be about. The US security and getting Bin Laden. I trust my President and his Generals to finish the job and bring our guys and girls home safely. And I say a prayer daily for them all.

I read this article this morning in the LA Times that I found to be interesting as to how President Obama came to his decision to send in the troops with a timeline.

Obama homed in on an Afghanistan pullout date

In President Obama's Afghan war sessions, a mantra arose: to make the biggest military impact in the shortest time.
