I have wrote about this very issue before. As someone who others would call a lefty, I can identify with Gibbs frustration with the left side of the base. Nothing pleases them. NOTHING. And its MORE, MORE, MORE. Bitchin and groaning daily on twitter, or the blogs or on cable TV. Always something is wrong or could be done better or different.
One person can not satisfy these people. First of all the President have only been in office about what 16 months, a year and a half. And all the progressive liberals want everything done yesterday. President Obama can't make law. He can only sign bills, once they get to his desk. Our President have had to fight for each and everything he have signed. NOTHING have been easy. Sure the Progressives and Liberals helped to get him elected. But so did many other Democrats, Independents and some Republicans. But then everyone went home and sat on their ass in front of the computer. Complaining, instead of hounding Congress and the Senators to pass more progressive bills. What was he supposed to do? Beat the hell out of Liberman (sp) or a few others just to get their vote. Then someone would be complaining about that. He is President of ALL the people. Not just the Liberals.
President Obama is not even halfway through his 1st term and already Liberals and Progressives are complaining about what he have not done. This shit take time. The hell hole he was left to dig us out of is going to take years to get back on the right track. Everyone want everything they want done NOW. The Latinos, The Gays, The Blacks, The Unions, The Jobless, I'm sure I forgot some more folks. But to get all of this done is going to take more than a year and a half. Closing Gitmo, Congress give the President the money so he can close the dam place. DADT is a law. Only Congress can change the law. And they will, they have the votes. So people you see it's a work in progress, wait. Shut the hell up about it. The law is going to be passed.
The Public Option can be brought to the floor again since we now have a Healthcare Bill in Law. It will be easier to pass this time. All that hell raising for nothing. President Obama want a full comprehensive Immigration Bill. He don't want to piece meal the bill. I could go on and on. This have been the most productive Congress and the most progressive that I have seen in my lifetime. They have done a lot in a short length of time. So give them some credit. The Democrats that is. Send the Republicans home since they are only taking up space voting NO on everything anyway. They should return their salaries, because they have done nothing for the American people.

Now I will say this. I watch MSNBC daily. I enjoy the news personalities on that station. I will also tune into CNN once in a while. My favorite personalities are Keith and Rachael, and Savannah and Chuck Todd. Tamron Hall is also great. I really miss David Shuster. I used to be a fan of Chris Matthews and Ed Schultz shows. But they have to loud a show for me. Chris talks over all his guests, and Ed shouts everyone down, and he think bullying someone is fighting for a cause. I'm a fighter for human rights in every form. But I'm with Gibbs when he says the cable shows with the Liberal base, don't stand up for President Obama, 99% of the time they are complaining about something. Nothing is ever good enough. I guess Gibbs had a bad day and have had it with some of the opinions, knowing that something someone will say will stick in someones mind.
Again there are 435 districts in the United States that have to be represented. President Obama have to go to the middle sometime. He can't satisfy everyone. And he know this. The people that yell and scream on Fox and the T crowd did not vote for him anyway. But the people who yell the loudest get the most attention. Liberals may want to try it.
As a Liberal I think this Administration have done great, in spite of the Republicans not voting for anything. In spite of all the complaining from the Liberals, in spite of the news media that follow a fool such as Palin or whatever some political nut job says instead of reporting real news.
Such as, the Republicans want to extend the Bush tax cuts, and went on all the cable shows to shout it from the rooftops. But they don't say how they are going to pay for them. Or they say the tax cuts will help the rich and corporations to create jobs. Well the way I see it, the rich have the tax cuts in place now and NOT creating any jobs, they are holding on to 2 trillion dollars. Claiming they are uncertain as to what is going to happen in Washington. In other words trying to blame Obama. That's BULL. If these tax cuts is such a job creator why are the businesses not hiring people? What are they waiting for? To see if President Obama will let them expire? There is no reason to keep them in place if the businesses are not hiring anyway. They need to show America that they are trying to help the economy before Americans are willing to give them the break or benefit of the doubt with a tax cut. You got to give something to get something.
They are doing this to try and make President Obama look bad. Wall street is giving their money to Republicans so they can put them back in office so the rich can continue their gravy train. This is the fight that the Liberals should be shouting about. The Obama Administration know it, and this is what is so frustrating to them.
Ok Obama Administration, you are going to have to hire some good professional spokespeople to get out there and spread all the good news that come out of the Whitehouse daily. You can't depend on the news media, because they are trying to make news more exciting. And so they go for the crazy people and you get drowned out. The American public is not stupid. We know and see what is going on. We need good exciting speakers. That can hold an audience.
I'm surprised Gibbs held out this long, because he is one to speak his mind.
Some Liberals are still behind you President Obama and thank you for your hard work. It's funny some people will shout their feelings from every TV station daily. Then get upset when they get a come back. If you dish it you got to take it.
